SOCAL 'CROSS FEVER COMING JANUARY 3RD - UCI FAMED HANSEN DAM

Hope you all had a great Christmas Holiday so far.  The elfs have finished the LAST cross race of 2009 and are getting ready for the FIRST cross race of 2010 this coming Sunday, January 3rd at the famed UCI Dam Cross.  Santa Livesay promises a user friendly course to bring you back from your holiday vacation as the Cross Fever Series finale on 1/17 will return to Hansen Dam.  In between don't miss High Desert Cross in Palmdale - look for snow!!!

Note:  Cross Fever Race #1 at Hansen Dam is sanctioned by the American Bicycle Racing Association.  USA Cycling was closed for the holidays.  This race will not be recognized by USAC for upgrade points.

WHAT YOU GONNA GET FOR RACIN' CROSS FEVER??? First of all a cure for your Cross Fever.  Second lots of fun and the last cross racing for the next 8 months.  Third, training that's better than intervals!!!

Series Points Ranking Schedule:  Points will be awarded to the top 15 finishers (20, 17, 15, 13, 11 down to 1) at each of the Cross Fever Series races for all categories.  In determining the overall series winners in each category, each rider’s final points will count toward overall tally.  Series Leaders Jerseys by Voler will be awarded each week to the leaders of each category. Overall prizes will be awarded to the top 3 placing riders in each category at the end of the series. A cash purse will be awarded in the elite women's and men's wave.  $5 from each entry will be put into a final overall series purse and be awarded to the top 3 overall male and female riders in that wave.

COURSE PREVIEW:  Below is a preview of the course map and video of our 2006 disctrict championships for thiose of you who are not familiar with Hansen Dam Park.  Remember... just three races remain and a great tune up for the road season... the power you will get from CX will take you to the front of the finish line!  Also, if you would like another workout, hop on the road bike and just down the road (Foothill) is the classic ROAD RIDE loop: Little Tujunga to Bear Divide to Placerita Canyon.  For those looking for a casual ride, take your bikes atop the Hansen Dam Bike Path for a view of the lovely San Fernando Valley and San Gabriel Mountains.  Hope to see you there!  Cross Fever will take you to the "real" end of the 2009-10 cyclocross season!
