SCPS #2 - COMING YOUR WAY... PSYCHO-CROSS! SUNDAY, 10.5
Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Race #2 of the SoCalCross Prestige Series takes place this Sunday, 10/5 at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa, “Psycho-Cross” presented by Lightning Velo.  Look for some exciting action as the SoCalCross Prestige Series Points leaders will dawn their Voler leader jerseys and Sock Guy leaders socks on Sunday at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa.  The course consists of a mixture of grass, pavement and dirt. The start and finish winds its way through grass and a dramatic barrier finish. Overall the course is fast, mostly flat with one moderate downhill and an equally moderate uphill run up. Hold on as you ride through the infamous Kool N Fit whoop zone. The entire course, except for the course barriers, is rideable. Each lap is approximately 3km in length.  Races are timed circuits on the course based on category.

Fairview Park is a family oriented park. It is open and easy to walk around in. It is a great spectator venue--most of the course can be viewed from the start/finish area. Parking is adjacent to the race course. Surf City Cyclery will be providing our mechanical support and also have some demo bikes available.

Lightning Velo would like to thank their race sponsors for helping make this event happen: Los Alamitos Animal Hospital, Page One Studios, and King's Bicycles.

Lightning Velo is a recreational and racing cycling club based in Long Beach, California.
We currently has over 150 members with diverse interests in every aspect of cycling. But they all have this in common— they love to ride, want to promote cycling and cycling related activities, and enjoy the friendship and the camaraderie that this club has to offer. We like to call ourselves "fast but friendly."

Demo bikes are available in smaller Junior sized bikes supported by the SCNCA. SoCalCross will provide Redline, Speciaized, Ellsworth and Jamis CX demos available in adults sizes.  Stop by the SoCalCross trailer to sign out a demo for FREE!  Bring your MTB and shoes as a back up.  Demo pedals are available... Shimano, Time, Crankbrothers.

Get your Official Bike Shop Discount Card at the SoCalCross booth for savings on CX bikes and equipment.

Thanks to:  Rock N Road Cyclery, Banning's Bikes, Montrose Bike Shop, Bear Valley Bikes, B&L Bike + Sports, and Bike Religion for their support!  Visit them to get your super cool CX bike and nececities!
